Who funds your candidates
What you'll see
- A breakdown of the candidate's funding sources, including corporate PAC contributions and which companies are behind them.
- The candidate's own reported fundraising totals, by year.
- Public financing, where a state or city provides it.
- For sitting members of Congress, their committee assignments.
Which candidates are included
Federal candidates, from public FEC filings and congressional records. State and local candidates for the 46 states and cities ChooseWell currently covers, from those states' own campaign-finance records: more than 50,000 candidates and officeholders in all. The states not yet covered, and why, are listed in the app under State coverage.
How current is it?
Federal data refreshes weekly. State and local data loads monthly, as each state publishes it.
Is this politically neutral?
Yes. The Candidates tab does not rate, rank or editorialize about anyone. It presents disclosed contribution data so you can draw your own conclusions. See the full Methodology.
